The Challenge with Growing Sales

I recently did a survey to about 1500 small businesses asking them what their biggest challenge was in growing their business. I wasn’t surprised to hear that it was getting and developing good sales people but what I was surprised to see was the number of people that identified that as their biggest challenge. Over 70% of the respondents said that their biggest challenge was working with sales people. It’s interesting to me to hear that, with all the sales training and technology out there to help sales people one would think that this wouldn’t be the biggest challenge however what it does tell me is that the heart of the issue isn’t necessarily training sales people, it’s developing and managing sales people.
