Career growth…or job hopping 101

Management for Everyone

Switching gears a bit this week, I would like to broach the subject of career planning.  I think everyone needs to be aware of where they want to end up at the end of their working career.  In days gone by people would work for the same firm for 30-35 years and retire with a decent pension, some nice parting gifts and the knowledge that they had prepared their subordinates to carry on the plan.  Fast forward to the present day and rarely does anyone follow that model any longer, more typical is a person works a series of interconnected jobs, moving up the career ladder at multiple firms.

How does someone plan then, for this interconnected series of jobs that amount to their career?  It is not easy to figure this path out when you initially enter the workforce, you must find your passion.  After a few years though…
