In 2007, Starbucks was facing plummeting stock prices and decreasing revenues. Howard Schultz, CEO of the popular chain Starbucks, was able to turn the company around by using consistent messaging and inspiring his employees to be passionate about the business. He used effective communication tactics to instill in his employees the values, principles and culture behind the company. According to the author, it was Schultz’ passion for the company and his ability to communicate that passion to his employees that drastically improved the company’s performance.
