Chronic Disease Self-Management Program

alysonbudd

In October, I underwent training to become a certified volunteer leader in the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program workshops. My first ever workshop starts on Tuesday and I’m looking forward to it!

The program is 6 weeks in length, and participants meet once a week for 2.5 hours. Stanford University developed the program, and here in BC it is run by the University of Victoria and the Ministry of Health. I’m proud to be involved in something like this that helps people discover the power and control they have over their lives and over their chronic conditions, whether they be physical or mental.
