So far this week in business meetings I’ve heard people talk about ” Running it up the flag pole and seeing who will salute it”, “The need to find out if it will wash its face”, and of course “The Elephant in the room”.
Now I would like to think that at least the person who used those phrases knew what they really meant. If anyone else understood the message, it may only be pot luck. Probably not the best strategy to get your message understood by your audience.
Understanding your own communications preference, and the preference of others is a far better way to increase the likelihood that your message is received and understood by your audience.
